The sterilization chamber, lid, steam generator and main components are all of high-strength AISI 316L steel, and the pressure vessels are guaranteed by Fedegari for 10 years.
The sterilizer’s self-support structure is made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, while the outer container cabinet consists of panels of polyurethane resin and stainless steel, with a handsome lid of high-strength polyurethane foam for effective thermal and acoustic insulation.
The entire hydraulic system, steam generator, water pressurizing pump, solenoid valves and electrical system are contained inside the cabinet. Access to the various components for maintenance is assured by easy removal of the external panels of the sterilizer.
In the front part of the machine are the chamber and generator pressure/vacuum gauges, process printer (optional), electronic control panel with monochromatic LCD screen and emergency manual pressure discharge valve. The sterilizer is also equipped with a blind flanged through-pass (DN26) which can accomodate up to 12 validation probes.

STEAM GENERATOR
In this more economical series of sterilizers too, Fedegari has chosen to avoid the use of electrical resistors inside the sterilization chamber due to the relatively large number of cases of corrosion caused by the aggressive substances emitted by the loads and the unpleasant odours produced by the water. Instead, inside the machine’s cabinet it has installed a powerful electrical steam generator made of AISI 316L with integrated feed pump that can produce saturated steam of excellent quality.
What is more, this solution avoids the need to empty the sterilization chamber of water when the sterilization process requires its discharge and consequently reduces energy consumption and cycle execution times. The feed pump is self-priming and is able to deliver the water from a tank external to the sterilizer (available as an optional if no external supply line is available) or by connecting directly to the external supply line.

HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC SYSTEM
The hydraulic and pneumatic system consists of pipes and solenoid valves. The hydraulic system is made of AISI 316L stainless steel and uses sanitary-type flanges with relative closing clamps to connect the individual components and appropriate high-strength elastomer gaskets.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The sterilizer’s electrical system is manufactured and installed in compliance with European standards EN61010-1 and EN61010-2-041.
The system includes the electrical panel, all the control lines for the electrohydraulic and electropneumatic actuators of the motors, the electronic process controller and the steam generator. The system also connects the process controller to all the sensors and transducers (e.g. pressure switches, thermoresistors etc.) and to the operator interface devices. Lastly, it includes the primary feed line and relative protection system.
The electrical panel is located in the front part of the machine’s container cabinet. It contains the principal electrical and electronic feed/sectioning and distribution devices, including the general power switch. The latter, in particular, also functions as emergency stop device.

ELECTRONIC PROCESS CONTROLLER
The electronic process controller consists of a programmable logic controller (PLC) which, together with specific hardware blocks and other electronic equipment, controls and manages the operation of the entire machine and also performs the activities relative to interactive interfacing with the operator.
The Operator Panel integrated in the electronic process controller consists of a 4 lines x 20 columns LCD display and a membrane-type keyboard through which the operator interfaces interactively with the machine.

EXCLUSIVE LID-SEALING SYSTEM WITH PNEUMATIC GASKET
On this line of compact sterilizers too, Fedegari has adopted the same special-section gasket used on all its industrial sterilizers and the exclusive horizontally swivelling system to close the sterilizer chamber lid, instead of more the complicated and less safe traditions mechanical systems based on radial levers or other mechanisms involving both construction and maintenance difficulties.
The system is equipped with a safety leverism that obliges the operator to use both hands, thus avoiding the possibility of accidents involving crushed fingers.

The FVG series sterilizers use control and monitoring devices characterized by high reliablity:
temperature control sensor:
Pt100 probe with 4 wires, AISI 316 stainless steel tip and silicon cable sheathe, response time < 6 sec at 90% bottom scale
pressure control sensor:
absolute transducer, 4-20 mA, piezoresistive type
pressure indicators:
two control pressure/vacuum gauges, tubular spring type (one connected to the sterilization chamber, the other to the steam generator).
