A fundamental and unique feature of the lid assembly is the special patented pneumatic gasket made of silicone rubber with a full, monolithic cross-section, which has the following characteristics:
Instrumental compressed air feed:
the special profile prevents the compression fluid from entering the sterilization chamber, which would impair its sterility and that of its contents;
Absence of vacuum:
the specially design contour and the mechanical characteristics of the gasket material guarantee the opening of the lid without a vacuum as the gasket retreats uniformly and smoothly into its seat;
Easy maintenance:
no lubrication or periodical maintenance is required except for normal cleaning of surfaces and removal of any foreign bodies crushed between the gasket and the lid;
Gasket useful lifetime:
the manner of operation and the compression fluid produce a very slight rate of wear on the gasket which, depending on the utilization of the sterilizer, has an average lifetime that ranges from 1 to 5 years.
The characteristics of the material used to make the gasket are in accordance with the requirements of FDA 21 CFR part 177.2600;
Safety:
imultiple electromechanical and electronic safety interlock managed by the process controller prevent the opening of the lid when the gasket is still pressurized and/or when conditions are present that could endanger the operator and/or the load.
