The FOB series of saturated steam horizontal bench top sterilizers belong to a highly successful generation of small, fully automatic sterilizers with high performance characteristics designed for use by public and private Laboratories, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries, Hospitals, medical facilities and other research and technological sectors. The FOB series sterilizers are available in the following single-door
or double-door models:
FOB2 (single door), chamber with nominal capacity of 75 liters
FOB2S (two doors, pass-through), chamber with nominal capacity of 110 liters
(1.5 sterile units)
FOB3 (single door), chamber with nominal capacity of 140 liters
FOB3S (two doors, pass-though), chamber with nominal capacity of 180 liters
(2 sterile units)
These sterilizers have been designed to carry out sterilization processes with operational tolerance and performance characteristics that are practically identical to those otherwise available only with industrial equipment.
The extreme flexibility assured by these sterilizers is due to both to the PLC-based process controller and to the hydro-pneumatic system which allow a large number of different processes to be performed and thus make it possible to use the machine to sterilize a very wide range of products.
All the machine’s functions are managed by a PLC so it can run without any need for intervention on the operator’s part except for the product loading and unloading operations.
In addition, these sterilizers have been developed as wholly modular equipment that can be easily configured so as to adapt them, by selecting the appropriate options, to meet all the specific operating requirements of a sterilizer in this class.
Safe operation is assured both by fully validated process software and by PLC programming software in compliance with IEC-1131-3.
The 2-door pass-through version is available for use in cases where the sterilizer must be installed facing onto a sterile or controlled-contamination environment, such as an operating theatre or laboratories with LP2 or LP3 safety levels.
The separation of the two environments, although not absolute, is in any case sufficient to meet the needs of a hospital theatre.
In addition, the second door is appropriately interlocked with the first so as to avoid any contamination of the “clean” environment through the sterilizer chamber.

All the FOB models, in their basic configuration, must be supplied with compressed air and saturated steam as well as electricity. If these fluids are not available at the place of installation, the machine can be equipped with an optional electric air compressor and electric steam generator that can be installed inside the technical compartment.
The cylindrical sterilization chamber is made of AISI 316L stainless steel with mirror-polished finish inside the chamber.
The hydraulic system is made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel with sanitary-type fittings.
The sterilizer features a self-supporting structure built of AISI 304 and a container cabinet with panels made of high-density polyurethane foam with extremely hard surfaces to ensure maximum hygiene and easy cleaning.
In their basic version, the FOB sterilizers are equipped with the minimum requisites to assure correct operation.
